Child Support

In Ohio, child support is calculated using a statutory formula that factors in the incomes of both parents, health insurance and day care requirements, and any other special needs. When you hire me to represent you in a child support matter, I will review all proposed orders to ensure that they are in compliance with Ohio guidelines and that all relevant income has been properly considered, including self-employment income, seasonal income and commission-based income. I will also handle all issues related to motions for child support modification or enforcement.

Child Custody

When determining custody of minor children, the Ohio courts must give priority to the best interests of the minor children. In some situations, the court may appoint a guardian ad litem to represent the children and make recommendations to the court as to what is in the best interests of the children.

I will work with you at all stages of a child custody matter, helping you establish and implement a plan that promotes the best interests of your children while allowing you to have a meaningful parenting relationship. I will help you prepare for any court-ordered analysis by family conciliation units, social workers or psychologists. If shared parenting (joint custody) is in the child's best interests, I will aggressively work to make that a reality.

Visitation

When examining visitation arrangements, the courts generally recommend visitation with the non-custodial parent, unless there are substantiated concerns about the safety of the minor children. I will work closely with you to make certain that visitation orders are based on solid evidence and that the visitation orders are in the best interests of your children.

I also handle most other matters related to divorce or dissolution of marriage.
